From the start, our work has been guided by a commitment to answer urgent needs while also building pathways for long-term resilience.
Efforts Before Amel Foundation
Before founding Amel Foundation, Dr. Khalid dedicated years of service to charitable and humanitarian work across several countries. These experiences shaped his vision and laid the foundation for Amel’s mission.
✓ Launched and managed charity projects in Egypt, including large-scale initiatives for printing educational and religious materials.
✓ Played a key role in establishing the Red Crescent office in Bangladesh.
✓ Oversaw eye treatment projects that restored vision for countless patients.
✓ Directed and delivered charity projects exceeding $2 million in impact.
✓ Led the renovation and maintenance of hospitals, community centers, and places of worship.
✓ Served as Director of a hospital in Tamir, Mauritania, improving healthcare access in underserved areas.
With the Qatar Red Crescent:
✓ Organized medical convoys in Bangladesh, Sudan, and Qatar, including heart surgeries and ENT treatments.
✓ Supported hospital development and infrastructure projects.
✓ Led training programs for medical staff to improve capacity and care quality.
Responding to Sudan’s Crisis:
As conflict in Sudan displaced millions, Amel Foundation mobilized on the ground. With over 11 million people forced from their homes, the crisis became the heart of our mission. We expanded programs in Sudan delivering food aid, clean water, healthcare, and education to communities struggling to survive.
Growth of Our Work:
In just a few years, Amel Foundation grew into a trusted humanitarian partner with impact both in Sudan and the United States.
