A Daily Journey for Water
Amina, a 9-year-old girl, wakes before dawn. Instead of walking to school, she carries a yellow container and begins her three-hour journey to the nearest muddy pond. The water she brings back will be shared by her entire family but it is contaminated, and it often makes them sick.
This is not just Amina’s story. It is the daily struggle of thousands of families across Sudan. Children lose their chance at education, parents worry about cholera outbreaks, and entire communities are trapped in a cycle of poverty because of one basic need: water.
